Hooking up shouldn’t feel like a wrestling match. The etrailer SD Non-Binding Tow Bar uses self-supporting arms that hold their own weight, so you can connect one side at a time without fighting gravity. No more dragging or tangled lines—the straight, vinyl-coated safety cables are built right into the tow bar. They’re rated to 14,000 lbs and stay up off the ground where they belong. When you’re done towing, simply lift the arms an inch or two and swing them to either side. They lock automatically into the built-in tabs—no need to wrestle them upright. To flat tow your vehicle, there are 5 basic components you're going to need: a tow bar, a base plate kit, a safety cable set, tow bar wiring, and a flat tow braking system.

The custom-fit base plate installs on the frame of your toad so you can connect the car to your RV with a tow bar. Hook up safety cables between the vehicles to ensure that the toad does not separate from the motorhome if the tow bar becomes detached. Tow bar wiring syncs your vehicle's signal lights with your motorhome's tail lights, as required by law in most states. Finally, the flat tow braking system - also required in most states - activates the brakes in the toad when you hit the brakes in the RV, making for smoother, safer braking, and preventing wear on your motorhome.

Works good, there is a learning curve to attaching to the camper but after a couple hook-ups it’s an easy process.
Very easy to hook up and excellent towi ng.

I have now had the tow bar for a year and haven't had any problems with it, I have put on 5000 miles with it.
The hitch was really nice put it together and had it hooked up in 10 minutes. Good quality nice finish very happy this hitch!
It didn't work with the off-road bumper setup that I was sold
Easy to install 20 minutes to remove bumper.40 minutes to set base plate and drill 2 9/16 holes then put bumper back on and tighten back down.

I recently purchased a tow bar from etrailer and the process could not have been easier. Ellen , at etrailer was amazing. She patiently assisted me with finding just the right product for my needs. Works just as described. If anything was better it would be that the neck drop was variable to not have to purchase a separate drop down connection. It is not that far off but just enough. With an extension I drag that extension in low spots so I took it back off and the connection from my motorhome to Jeep is not exactly within the described tolerance but works well from my experience.
The tow bar seems to be great so far. My only complaint so far is the rust that I see on the slider bars. I've really only used the tow bar for one round trip of 1400 miles so I'm a little disappointed to be seeing rust already. Otherwise, the quality seems really good. Connecting and disconnecting is normally quick and easy.
I saved a ton of money doing this job myself. The job was not bad at all. I saved about a little over $4000 with the complete installation including tow bar, base plate and invisibrake system.
Tow bar has been working great. Went over 2000 miles and still very nice. The only part I didn’t like was the fact that the paint is so heavy on the ends they wouldn’t fit on my car until I ground the paint off. Other than that worked kk
I thought this tow bar was compatible with etrailer invisible base plate kit with/ removable arms, The tow bar came with only 2 spacer washers, no nuts for 2 bolts and pins to go through. The attachment pins to the base plates are too big. this puts me in a bad way, I guess I will have to purchase new for myself ........... thanks

Great purchase and suggestion from etrailer. This thing is so easy to hook up to the Jeep and we couldn't be happier. We've only towed a few times, but already the wife has taken over hooking up the tow bar while I hook up the Brake Buddy in the Jeep. Easy to hook up, just as easy to disconnect after you arrive. I wish we had done this years ago!

Its been a year and its still working great! I am SOOOO happy we made this purchase. Towing our Jeep is a breeze with this compared to when we had to tow our car using a dolly. If you are on the fence about whether or not to purchase, DO IT!
First time flat tower so can't compare it to any others. Installs easily and stows out of the way nicely. Build quality looks Very good and look forward to our trip. I've only done parking lot test drives.
